The popular actor Christos Hatzipanagiotis and the actor and director, known among other things for his tenure in the modern Greek play, Manos Karatzogiannis present the one-act play "Himself and His Pants", which was staged in May 2018 on the stage of the Stathmos Theater, together with "Epicedio" by the same author in a single performance with the general title "Himself, the Other and His Pants".
Christos Chatzipanagiotis stage alone. Again. It becomes "He".
He talks about the funeral of someone "Other" and his "Pants".
In the first part of the performance, through a spartan "Funeral", he – once again – effortlessly brings us laughter, satirizing the vanity and pettiness of human nature.
In the second part, the irreplaceable void of his mother becomes a heartbreaking monologue with the only listeners being the furniture of his house. He cohabits with the charged memories and fantasies that his unbearable loneliness causes him. His subconscious need to "have a person" is expressed, sometimes with subtle humor and sometimes with acute sensitivity.
