The AION Cultural Organization and the Naxos Festival invite you on Saturday, June 7, 2025, from 11:00 to 15:00, at the Bazeos Tower, to the opening of the exhibition by Maria Grigoriou and Yannis Papadopoulos:
THE THREAD THAT UNITES US

Maria Grigoriou and Giannis Papadopoulos delve deeply into the art of weaving and handicrafts with their study and knowledge. By developing old and new constructions within the spaces of the historical monument, they highlight the timelessness of craftsmanship and weaving tradition, its evolution into contemporary visual art and expression. Their creations are harmoniously and complementary to the works and installations that exist in the tower.
The two artists have shared the same artistic studio in Athens since 1978, following parallel paths. Both are graduates of the Vakalo School and the West Surrey College of Art, and founding members of the AFI group. They have shared their knowledge through seminars and lectures in various parts of the world, while they have participated in many solo and group exhibitions, including at the Benaki Museum in Athens, the Hellenic Cultural Foundation in Berlin, and the Grand Curtius Museum in Liège.
Exhibition duration: 8/6 – 10/10/2025 | Daily 10:00 – 17:00 except Mondays
