Less IS more.
In 2011, the Naxos Festival enters its second decade of continuous organization. We are coming of age, an opportunity once again to look forward and back. We realize that our criterion was the essential, the true, the tasteful. In the previous decade, most if not all, institutions and individuals, public and private, greedily aimed for more and more. Until the balloon overinflated and burst with force in their faces. If we try, we will achieve the most with the fewest means. With more zeal but also with more work. Artistic creation has never been inextricably linked to economic expansion. On the contrary, in times of crisis, creators manage to create great things because they focus on the spiritual. So less consumption, more spirituality, less entertainment of boredom, more search for meaning. Less is more.
