If we assume that we live in a fantasy era, then much of what seems obvious does not exist in reality. We often talk about ghosts of the past that haunt our modern culture and behavior. We often talk about illusory and imaginary promises, but also about ideas that are imaginary although unrealizable. We often talk about the ghosts of the soul that remain buried in internal crypts and appear only in our dreams. Art comes to bridge the gap between what we perceive to exist and its physical reality. On this borderline moves the Naxos Festival at Pyrgos Bazeos, attempting to illuminate the gloomy image of reality through the glow of a phantasmagoria.

VISUAL ARTS Phantasma Art Experience June 3 – September 28, 2017 | Daily, 10:00–17:00
Five artists create in the mysterious space of Pyrgos Bazaios and its rural surroundings: Irene Gonou and George Papafigos (GR), Manuela Zervudachi (FR), Collin Mura-Smith (USA), Miyuki Kido (JP). With painting, sculpture, video and installations they convey the idea of the ghost, the illusion and the imaginary. Curated by: Marios Vazaios.
