The old women who gather nettles

The performance of the Experimental Stage of the Thessalian Theatre utilizes the secret stories of women of Thessaly in the 19th and 20th centuries in a stage approach with the main axes of social roles and the gendered dimensions of magico-religious practices. Cooking and ritual practices are at the center. Three female figures, interpreted by three young male bodies, spending their lives in the shadow of the dominant androcratic power, dialogue between the familiar and the archetypal, the harmless "grandmother" and the dangerous healer, talk about their lives, about what they learned from the old ones. what they suffered as women and what they pass on to the next.
