Savina Giannatou and the chores vocal ensemble perform for the first time in a program that combines tradition, contemporary classical music and improvisation with the human voice as the main medium.
The Passages is an anthology of works written by five different composers for this performance, each using a pre-existing song. Among them, Corsican polyphony and the music of the Spanish Renaissance, the songwriting of Lena Platonos and the tradition of Smyrna in the early 20th century or the archetypal Epitaph of Seikilos, intersect with materials and means that today's composers envision and invent.
This unexpected combination of materials given to the great performer Savina Giannatou and the bold CHόRES produces an original sound world full of sensitivity and subtlety.
