The historic site of Pyrgos Bazeos as well as the outstandingly beautiful surrounding outdoor space with the dry landscape and the preserved ruins, are simultaneously activated in order to welcome twelve complete weaving islands. The contemporary weavings of the visual artists, converse with knowledge and thoroughness with the timeless Greek weaving tradition, simultaneously defining new ways, materials and inventions of the manual process and exciting modern plastic weaving landscapes.
As part of the exhibition, Marios Vazeos, director of the Naxos Festival, and the curator of the exhibition, Iris Kritikou, invite twelve distinguished Greek artists to proceed with the creation of an independent organic field, which is completely connected to the architectural fabric and natural environment of the Bazeos Tower.
